About this deal
Twenty years later, it endures as a staple behind the bar for its versatility in cocktails and it’s balanced, relatively classic juniper-led palate. Not so here, as TEN depends on fresh and whole lime, grapefruit, and orange in the distillation process to really make it sing. It is one of Diageo's sixteen "strategic brands" earmarked for prioritisation in promotion and distribution worldwide. The new bottle also has a dimple ridged base which looks a lot like a juicer, which is no surprise as Tanqueray 10 is defined by the use of fresh citrus.
Tanqueray No.Ten Distilled Gin, Award Winning, 47.3% Vol, 70cl
This is rather like lying on a summer hillside – a combination of sweet gorse notes, aromatic grasses and lemon balm.It is best enjoyed with premium tonic water, plenty of ice and a wedge of pink grapefruit or with dry vermouth and a twist of pink grapefruit in a perfect martini. Six botanicals, among them cloves, cardamom and cassia bark, are cold-infused into a gin for seven days, creating a pale yellow gin with a bright, exotic, spicy nose – think cloves, cinnamon and candied lemon. To make a classic London Dry gin such as Beefeater, this botanical mix is usually put in the still to macerate for a while with the neutral spirit, then boiled. Ten is named after the still of its origin, pot still number 10, which is quite endearingly nicknamed Tiny Ten. Nose: Perfumed, aromatic nose with notes of tangy grapefruit zest, creamy custard and clean juniper.
